Grandparents, Mothers, father, son and daughters and friends and family of African
origin.
Rating the artist
We ask that you remember that art is by the hand of the creator.
Not everything bought will satisfy every customer. As you rate our artists please be
kind. They live off their artwork and depend on this money you have traded for
their artwork.
Too much negative rating will result in poor sales and a hungry artist and even
possibly hungrier children and extended family members.
How does Mikhono protect the artists?
Our artist are like the family members of Mikhono.
They are fully protect and their artwork is protected too.
We are in constant communication with them and we have an open door policy for
any disputes.
We also insure their products as they stand in warehouse waiting for a new home.
We have training programmes to improve quality and to help with financial
management and other programmes promoted by our partners.
Delisting an artist
Sometimes artists get lost. We can’t find them when we contact them. Sometimes
we could remove their listing temporarily until we can find them.
We can also remove an artist artwork on their request.
Sometimes we enter into a dispute with an artist and we withdraw or suspend their
listing.
Mikhono selling fees
Our fee structure is a complex matrix.
We transport the artwork from 10km’s to 1000 km’s away to our warehouse.
We store it for an indefinite amount of time for free on behalf of the artist.
We insure their artwork as it sits with us.
We wrap and package the artwork on behalf of the artist.
We track the artwork and ensure that it’s delivered to the buyer.
We maintain the artist shop online.
We complete the transaction and pay the artist
Mikhono charges 15% – 50% margin plus 2% for Digital Fee (if applicable) on top of
the artist fee. The margin allows us to support our Mikhono team members, who
are just as passionate about supporting the artist.
The artist usually get their full charge of artwork.

Send a message to the artist using send message link at the bottom of every artist
shop.
Disputes with artists
We expect no dispute with the artist we so love.
In case there is a serious query, Mikhono will try to resolve the problem through
our support system. In case this matter is escalated, Mikhono will facilitate the
dispute with our artist through the [email protected] facility.
In person dispute will be solved using internal mediations systems, otherwise a fair
legal system will follow due process.
Taking care of our artists
Mikhono will do everything possible to take care our artists. If as a buyer you
choose to donate to an artist MiKhono will charge a 2.5% admin feee and ensure
that every cent goes to the artist. In case Mikhono can not find the artist, the
money will be refunded back to the donor less the 2.5% admin fee. A donor can
enquire about the availability of the artist before a donation.
Paying an artist
Payouts (if held by our system), will be checked to be released up to 24 hours
during business days. After it is released, it will go into “transit” and the processing
time depends on the payout method.
Some artist are paid out by cash method. These methods are complicated and
carry a risk Mikhono will always protect the artist in all and everyday.
